Special thanks goes to several people. First, Mark Willey, who took a chance on a 24-year-old with a college degree and a lot of naiveté. He gave me a job with his company…and that job turned into an occupation…which turned into a career…which is now my calling. I haven’t seen him in over 30 years, but I’m eternally grateful to him.
Secondly, my mentor and dear friend, Darrell “Corky” Dawes. He is the CEO of Peachtree Planning and one of the most honest, ethical, caring men I’ve ever met, much less had the chance to work with. Thirdly, everyone at Peachtree Planning who tolerates, loves, and supports me.
Fourthly, Mike Stansbury and Randy Hulett, the principals of ELITE Insurance Solutions. These guys once again took a chance on a guy with a lot of passion and desire to “reinvent” himself, and they are the providers of the home, auto & umbrella insurance products that make up many of the chapters in the Moat Section. Fifthly, all the producers and staff of ELITE…and more importantly, the one special woman that has somehow learned how to manage me…Jen Mantlo.
Lastly, my Dad and my Mom. We lost Dad last year…age 91, and he got every bit out of life. I think of him every day and miss him dearly. I’ve written a lot about him in my blogs, and if you know me, you know Dad. His words drive me every day to do what I do, to the best of my ability.
“Son, I never worked a day in my life. I just got dressed every day and went out and tried to help people.”
For some reason, I can do things that I can’t comprehend. The first is to be able to construct sentences and paragraphs to share my thoughts, observations, and emotions about what I do and see daily…and that gift comes from Mom…love you Mom!
I am a blessed man. Thank you for reading, for being my friend, client, or just letting me know my words matter when we see each other.
