The Times They Are a-Changin’

Happy Spring! I am loving the longer days, warmer weather, trees and plants coming alive again, and getting back out on the golf course with my friends. There’s a lot to unpack in this blog, and as the title says, things are changing in my world. Here are the three major ones I think you should know.

Retirement from the Property & Casualty Industry Effective May 1, 2022

After more than a decade of working hard, working smart, and helping a lot of people with their personal home, auto and business needs, I have decided to take my leave and retire. This means I will not be affiliating with any other agency nor selling any of this type of insurance products going forward. The owners at Elite Insurance have been nothing but amazing regarding my decision. If you are one of my clients or one of my trusted referral partners, please know that your accounts will continue to be well taken care of by the advisors and account managers at Elite. I trust you will continue to refer your clients to Elite just as you have referred to me.

There is no need to do anything except exchange my contact information to the main office phone of (615) 371-5400. We have been working through the details of this transition, and of course putting each of you ahead of everything else. Many of you have corresponded with my account manager, Donna Thomas on the servicing of your policies, changes of vehicles, refinances requiring lender changes, and other miscellaneous things that she does for you. She will continue to serve in that role.

Refocusing & Retooling Stewardship Private Wealth Management

As you know, I made the transition to Stewardship in 2018 and we’ve done exceptionally well in creating financial strategies and plans for our clients. The markets that have served you so well for the last 10 to 12 years have turned a little choppy lately, but we are steering through it. Money has so much emotion that it often times overrides logical decisions, and we’re working hard to keep our clients on track.

Its been said that the highest number of retirees will turn 65 between today and 2023. With this in mind, we are refocusing our efforts to help these people with their Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, their investment planning as they enter their “golden years,” and help with their retirement income strategies so they can live life to it’s fullest while knowing they’ve got a team of professionals working to help them finance the rest of their lives.

Castles & Moats – Book Now Available!

Castles & Moats has been a labor of love and is finally a reality. Almost 300 pages, 31 separate chapters on all things insurance and investments. It’s built on modules so that you can pick the areas you want to learn about first, hopefully gain a different perspective other than what the media, TV advertising, and “herd mentality thinking” is telling you. www.castlesandmoatsbook.com is where you can learn more and there are links to both Amazon.com and Parnassus Book Store in Green Hills. It’s been a good gift for both high school and college graduates in helping them get a good start on their financial futures. With financial literacy at an all time low, this book can provide you with some logical thinking in a world full of emotional thought.

So, there’s a lot to unpack here but it’s all great news for each of us. I’m still here. Just finally making some hard decisions and looking forward to the next chapters of my life, and your lives too! If you want to contact me, my new email is brian@briancarden.com.

I’m grateful to each one of you for your support, your kindness, and the chance to serve each of you in whatever role that either has been, or will be.

Many thanks,

Brian
